This was one of those trips to the east slopes of the Cascades where questionable weather to the west dissipates into a pleasant mix of blue skies laced with puffy clouds dancing atop the summits of the higher peaks. It also highlighted the diversity of our Pacific NW climate and topography. This was truly one of my most enjoyable hiking trips since moving here in April of 2002. It was simply good times with great hiking buddies in an inexplicably beautiful area.
