Before I was even able to read, I was interested in the weather. I began to keep accurate records of temperature and precipitation by the time I was 8 years old. Growing up in Connecticut, I was fascinated by Nor’easters and how difficult they were to predict. The blizzard of 1978 solidified my interest and obsession at the ripe old age of 11, and the following year in junior high, I began broadcasting the morning weather forecast for my school. To this day, I have deep regrets about not pursuing my true passion.
